How to Install Calculator Programs on the TI-84, TI-84 CE, and TI-84 Evo

Step-by-step guide to installing calculator programs on TI-84 and TI-84 CE models.

Edison Prep is excited to provide TI-84 calculator programs to students for the SAT and ACT. You can watch the videos on the Edison Prep Teachable channel, including the videos re: how to install the programs via the TI-Connect(tm) and TI-Connect CE(tm) software.

Note: If you’re an in-person student, we can also install them in the office during one of the group classes or private sessions! Just ask!

NEW TI-84 Evo

Instructions:
Step 1: Download the zip file of Edison Prep programs at this link.

Step 2: Take the files out of the zip file into an unzipped folder or on the desktop.

Step 3: Go to www.connectevo.ti.com on your computer. The software is web-based, so you don’t even have to install anything!

Step 4: Plug in your TI-84 Evo calculator to your computer via the USB-C to USB-C cable, and then your computer will detect it. It’ll pair, not unlike a Bluetooth device.

Step 5: Choose “Send files” from the TI-Connect app.

Step 6: Select all of the loose program files from the folder of files and choose to send them all. Depending on your computer type, you can likely shift-select or control-select all of them to send them over!

NOTE: We highly recommend downloading the bundle above rather than as individuals. It’s much easier to install it all at once!

NOTE #2: These are TI-84 .8XP files and are not compatible with the TI-84 Evo. For Evo files, click the zip file above!

DEGSDIAG – Calculates the degrees, degrees per angle and number of diagonals for an n-sided polygon
EPCIRCLE – Calculates r, d, area, circumference (part and whole) if you feed it what you know about a circle
EPCLEANER – Cleans your calculator and puts the settings back in a way that’s great for SAT/ACT!
ENDPOINT – Finds the other endpoint if given an endpoint and the midpoint
FACTLIST – Lists all factors for a given number
LCMGCF – Calculates the least common multiple / greatest common factor of three numbers
PASCAL – Displays any given row of Pascal’s triangle
PRIMES – Tells you if a number is prime or composite and lists primes in a given range
PRIMFCTR – Displays the prime factorization of a given number
QUADRAT – Quadratic Formula – Finds the roots and factors for a Quadratic Equation
SIMPLRAD – Simplifies Radicals
TRIANGL – Three Functions:
- Short Short Long – find the range of lengths for a third side
- Triangle Area – Calculates triangle area via SSS, SAS, ASA
- Determine Acute/Obtuse/Right based on the 3 side lengths
X1Y1X2Y2 – Provide two points and receive Midpoint, Distance, Slope, Intercept

Have you had trouble uploading programs to your TI-84 from a Windows machine?
(last revised 7/3/26)

If you have a PC and are having trouble putting programs on a TI-84 calculator, try the following:

1. Uninstall TI-Connect

2. Hold Shift and Click Restart

3. Upon restart, go to Troubleshoot > Advanced > Start-Up Settings and restart again

4. Upon restart, select Disable Driver Enforcement (should be 7)

5. Upon restart, reinstall TI-Connect and everything should work until you turn off your computer next. The fix should hold until you restart your computer again.

Hopefully Texas Instruments updates their driver to be automatically compatible with Windows again!
