Can Group Classes really be as effective as private tutoring?
Yes! Three things matter here:
- A full-time, professional tutor with a wealth of experience.
- A student commitment to completing 100% of the assigned homework.
- Freshly revised materials (we revise our book every 9-12 months to reflect changes in the test)
Our founders are the two most experienced SAT/ACT tutors in Georgia by a wide margin. As a result, our group class is far more effective than private tutoring with an inexperienced, underpaid college student from a big-box agency. We regularly get feedback that just the first Edison Prep class was more rewarding than months of prior preparation somewhere else.
Our instructors aren’t the only ones committed to score increases: we have hard-working students in our classes. We have cultivated a word-of-mouth client base of passionate students who are serious about increasing their scores, which includes doing homework (that second major factor)! This can-do philosophy improves the classroom environment for everyone.
The proof is in the pudding!

For Sophomores
Current sophomores—and their families—are highly advised to review the article “What Can a Sophomore Parent Do This Year to Ensure a Smooth SAT/ACT Preparation Process?”.
Your first step may be a complimentary mock SAT and ACT. If you’re currently taking Algebra II, we recommend taking mock tests in your second semester. If you’re taking Algebra II as a junior, wait until late fall of your junior year, when you have more Algebra under your belt!
