Do Not Cannibalize Enhanced ACT Practice Tests
Date: June 28, 2025

The new Enhanced ACT debuts in September 2025, and as with the digital SAT changes in 2024, there will initially be a crunch where less practice material is available. The ACT has only released four Enhanced ACT tests so far, and will release three more each year in October, April, and June. So in the near term, it would appear to
Cardinal Rule: Do not use up these four Enhanced ACTs as your first practice materials! Ration them and spread them out amidst the other tests described below so you can use those tests throughout your practice!
Does that mean that I should switch to SAT?
No; students should simply choose whichever test they have stronger scores on! (We have mock tests each weekend if you need to find out which one is your stronger test! RSVP at www.edisonprep.com/mocks/ .
Two years in, the SAT has just seven live tests on its Blue Book to practice with. The ACT will have seven by the end of year one. Raw materials are more cramped than it was on the prior formats of each test.
However, the ACT has many legacy tests (prior format tests) that are appropriate and great for practice. Edison Prep is proud to be part of the ACT Agora program which allows us to license and use 30+ tests for use with our students, something only 20 or so organizations have!
Here’s a rough inventory of tests that Edison Prep students will be able to use:
– Four released Enhanced ACT tests
– 30+ Legacy Tests under the Agora program
– 7-8 third party enhanced ACT practice tests
Most students won’t use more than 10-15 tests, so on day 1 we already have enough tests that no student will ever run out of ACT practice material on the new format.
