Students who qualify for testing accommodations often get confused by the application process, since the ACT accommodations application process is more difficult than the one for SAT. The ACT application is a separate process from College Board and requires help from the school to apply. Registering for the real test is the first step in applying for accommodations! We created a helpful explainer PDF (see link below) to help families navigating this process.
Note: If a student ends up being approved for extended time on both tests, the ACT wins over 99.9% of the time, since what makes the ACT hard is primarily speed issues, whereas the SAT already provides an absurd 60%+ more time per question than ACT without extended time, so the impact of accommodations is more muted on the SAT.
