Free Diagnostic Mock Tests for the SAT & ACT

We are happy to look at data from real SATs, real PSATs, real ACTs, and full-length mock tests of those three tests conducted by other companies as long as they are real, retired exams!

“My student wants to use pre-ACT/PSAT scores from 2 years ago” or “My student took a test that another company wrote.” Can we use those? Prior scores are great to have as data points, but a diagnostic test lets us see how your does on specific areas of content in each section, individual question types, reading material styles, and–most importantly–timing and stamina. That granular level of analysis lets us be more efficient in the tutoring process by identifying our biggest leverage points. Where are the areas of low-hanging fruit and/or areas where your student is naturally strong that we can max out? Mock tests help save students time and families money!

Chromebooks: While legal, it is advisable to not use a Chromebook if at all possible UNLESS your student is only taking the test at their own high school. Chromebooks commonly have wi-fi connection issues both at our office and — importantly — on the real test day if you’re taking it on an unfamiliar network (not your student’s actual high school). About 99% of all “oops” on test day where a student is unable to take the test are due to school-issued Chromebooks with byzantine and strict/odd security settings that don’t play nice with the host test sites.  Non-Chromebooks have larger screens, faster processors, fewer problems, and many other pluses as well. Additionally, non-school issued Chromebooks.

What’s best? Any Mac or PC, and ideally with a wireless mouse that allows such faster precision than a trackpad.
